1 Million Moms MomConnected

MomConnect is an initiative of the South Africa National Department of Health supporting pregnant women nation-wide. In November 2016, the NDOH and partners celebrated 1 million mothers being ‘MomConnected’. HealthEnabled supports the implementation of the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV (PMTCT) component of MomConnect through Faster to Zero.

HealthEnabled is an Africa-based not-for profit that helps integrate proven life-saving digital health interventions into health systems. We also work with governments and implementing partners to develop and operationalize their digital health strategies.

What We Do

We are accomplishing our mission by partnering with national governments and other health implementers. We foster and facilitate connections, build capacity and promote best practices in digital health. As facilitators to implementation, we are able to remain neutral and provide strategic and technical advice based on needs, priorities, and context.

Where We Work

We are based in South Africa and focus on catalyzing digital health in low- and middle-income countries. While we currently have a specific emphasis on Africa, particularly South Africa and Uganda, our network, interests and reach are global.

Our Networks

We currently house two networks: our vetted global Expert Network and, separately, the pan-African HealthE Africa initiative, which is a peer-assistance network that operates in partnership with K4Health with support from USAID. Both networks feature members with diverse backgrounds and have developed resources and promoted capacity-building efforts that have a global audience.
